When I was living in Australia, I like to hear or read story about people who travel across the globe and settle in new land.  It just fascinates me to imagine that years ago, people from Europe would spent months and months in the sea on a boat with the hope to make a living in the new world. Some people back then believe that a new country like Australia would have better opportunities than their home land. Hahndorf village is one perfect place where we can learn about European, in this case German, settler who came to Australia in 1838.   It is now became a heritage site to attract tourist (see all detail about history and how to to get there in their official website).  This place still have the original houses and traditional German shops, museum, bars which I think very interesting.  It’s not too difficult to reach Hahndorf village, I would suggest to spend at least half day to walk around the village, have lunch and then shop for souvenirs.
