How to make a homemade crispy fried chicken

We always somewhat feel guilty every time we eat a deep-fried-fatty-crunchy-chunky-fast food-chicken. It’s so good but it feels so unhealthy.  So, one day, we decided why don’t we just make our own version of not very healthy meal.  At least it’s homemade right?

This chicken turns out great and we promise ourselves we’re only going to eat this once a month, or twice? hmm…


[Chopped garlic, shallot, ginger and any other spices you like]


[and the chicken]

[stir the garlic and the herbs together with butter, and then pour some water or stock*]

[boil the chicken and add salt/pepper to taste, wait 20 minutes]

[mix all purpose flour, salt and pepper and cover the boiled chicken with the mixed flour, then deep fried the chicken]

[once it’s brown, take out the chicken, pat the excess oil with kitchen towel and serve!]

*) For added flavor, we sometimes use milk instead of water.
