Welcoming our baby No.2

On Tuesday, 20 September 2016, at 7.30 am, I gave birth to my second child and his name is Andaru.

Thank God, everything went well although there was a bit confusion on the timing at first.  When we first checked in on Monday night, we’ve been told that the surgery would be at 10 am.  However, on Tuesday morning at 6.30 am, the nurse came in and told us that the surgery will be at 7 am.   I was rushed to the surgery room and there I was laying on the table facing a giant lamp with a heart monitor beeping next to me.

For me, the hardest part was trying not to remember or think about those information on risks involved in a big surgery as stated in the consent form.  Plus, it was a bit difficult for me to breath after the anesthetic kicks in.   I was nervous as always but did my best to calm myself and focus on the breathing.  Luckily, my husband was allowed to be in the room with me and his present really helped me to relax.

When the baby was out (it was around 10 minutes after the doctor started the procedure), he didn’t cry much like he supposed to, so I only saw him for a couple of seconds and then they took him to intensive care and gave him an oxygen.

It’s been two weeks now at home with the kids and I couldn’t be happier.

Ps. Thank you so much for all the kind wishes from everyone!
